Day 10

Today started like all the others, we woke up in Lyman Wyoming. The morning was very cool, down in the low 40’s. After a warm shower and a cup of coffee, tea and hot chocolate, it was time to head out to Jackson Wyoming. So after packing up we headed off into the rising sun. (like that? I can do more) Anyway off we went. We started our trip with a run to a restaurant for breakfast. The one we remembered from the last time wasn’t there, or the memory wasn’t there. So we stopped for gas. There Jim asked about a place to eat. We were directed the Going South restaurant.

Once again we were steered correctly. The food was realllllly good. I had to ask the waitress to take my plate or I would finish it, and I had stopped before it was uncomfortable. There was  just a lot of food.
From there it was back on the road. North on Wyoming 414 to 412 to 189 in to Jackson.
Now, as we turned onto rt. 414 for the start of the trip to Jackson the first thing we saw was a big orange construction sign that said PAVEMENT ENDS.
What a sign to see after yesterday. I think all of us had similar reactions. Awe crap, what next, this can’t be happening, not really. Fortunately for us that was the first sign for the road construction project that had us routed over a short section of dirt road to bypass the areas of construction. There were 4 or 5 of these detours and then we were past the work zone. That was a scare. No one wanted to do another mile of dirt or gravel road.  No pictures of that.
After the construction, we made it to Carter Wyoming. Carter has maybe 6 or 8 buildings, 5 or 6 of which were falling down. Only 1 or 2 were occupied. We did see a train going through the Carter intersection.
After Carter we continued on toward Jackson.
We came up on a reservoir high in the mountains. It was something to see
We made it to the KOA in Jackson and set up camp. We had dinner at the new burger joint in town. The food, once again, was great. Just hamburgers, but really really good hamburgers.
After dinner we walked around town for a bit and stopped in the Million Dollar Saloon, or Cowboy Bar. Interesting place. From there it was back to the KAO and shut down for the night.
No pictures because I can't load them with the slow internet we have here. I will load as many as I can when we get a chance.
