Day 13

After playing musical campers last night, no one wanted to get out of bed too early, but when we did we noted that the folks that rented our previous site must have come in after we went to bed and left before we got up ‘cause the site was empty.
We never even saw them.
After the morning ritual of tea and coffee and hot chocolate, we headed out for breakfast. Breakfast was at Ernie’s bakery and deli. Not too bad, not Bubbas for sure.
Now it was on in to Yellowstone. Our first ride of the day was through Fire Hole Falls. We stopped a few times and took pictures. There are some really good pictures, take my word for it.  When I can I’ll show them to you. Here's one.
Above and below are scenes of the river in Fire Hole Falls

From Fire Hole Falls we moved to the Painted Pot area and took the .6 mile boardwalk path around the different fumaroles and mud pots.

From the paint pot area we were riding to the upper and lower falls when we came up on a traffic jam caused by one buffalo walking down the middle of the road. A ranger drove up and began to nudge him off the road with his car. He really didn’t want to go. After a few shoves the jay walking bison was off the road and the ranger drove off.
The buffalo was not a happy buffalo. He was snorting and goring a sage bush on the roadside. He finally decided to get back on the road just as we were passing. He came back on the road just behind Jim and Pam and right at me. Last thing I wanted was to have a confrontation with an irritated buffalo. I was able to scoot forward just as he came within about 5-6 feet of me. While he established his new path down the middle of the road Doug and Sandy slipped by on his right side.  He was content just to walk down the middle of the road. He wanted nothing more than to walk on the road.

Ok by me. Meanwhile, we were on our way.
Our next stop was to see the Upper falls.

And Lower Falls

On to Artists point

From here we traveled to the Canyon Cafeteria and had lunch. Jim had two lunches one for him and one for the floor. Beans really look good on the floor. Oh yeah!
From here we went to our campground in.....Montana. Or as Jim would say Wyoming....
We know where we're going, yes we do....

This is the end of the day for day 13.
