Day 13

Day 13
I'm not sure what day it is anymore, whats more I'm not sure I care. I still want to keep the trip days straight, it's the rest of the days I'm beginning to forget about. Like work days, day of the week....you know those pesky details that just muddy up the waters.

We packed up and left our dusty campsite with no further issues or catastrophies. Never did see Lake St. Margarite. Had breakfast at a local place. Pretty good eats.
On to Morrow Bay and San Lupis Abispo, the ocean!
Today we finally reached the ocean at San Lupis Abispo. 3242 miles into our trek, we see the Pacific Ocean. It's a fantastic sight!
Also a long time coming. From here it's a drive up the coast on the Pacific Coast Highway,to San Simeon and the Hearst Castle.
The drive up the coast was neat all by it self. Narrow winding road hugging the pacific coast. Once again...cliff on one side tight winding turns on the road. Still neat.
This road was like this all the way to San Simeon, quite a drive. Also, the wind was very strong all the way. Whenever we got on top of a hill, we were struggling to keep the bikes on the road, even just on the road at sea level the wind was bad.
Hearst Castle.

At the Hearst Castle we all took the #1 tour. It covers a guest house, the main floor of the castle, the outdoor pool and the indoor pool, you know, the one with the 22k gold decorations on the floor...yeah, that pool.

You can say what you want, ole' Hearst certainly had money.
After the hearst Castle it was a drive up the coast, still on the PCH.
Stayed in Big Sur State park 1006 acres. Smaller than Miami Whitewater. It was a neat sensation to sleep under the huge pines of Big Sur. Big Sur is not only a state park, it's an area of coastal California that runs from San Simeon north to Carmel. Covers a lot of ground.
Folks I have been trying for more than an hour to upload a few more pictures for today but they just don't seem to want to load for some reason. So instead of fighting with the internet, I'll not win that battle, I figure I'll just go on. If I find photo I think really should be included I'll make a seperate entry.
